Dinkes DKI Jakarta: Gaya Hidup Sedentari Meningkat, Risiko Penyakit Jantung Mengancam

INDOBALINEWS - The Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes DKI Jakarta) has raised concerns over the city’s growing sedentary lifestyle after data from its Free Health Check (Cek Kesehatan Gratis/CKG) program revealed that 93 percent of residents lack sufficient physical activity.

Head of the Jakarta Health Agency, Ani Ruspitawati, said the findings place a large portion of the population at risk of cardiovascular disease.

“From the examination results, the most common findings were in the cardiovascular risk group, particularly central obesity and lack of physical activity (93 percent),” Ani said on Monday February 16, 2026.

“In addition to low physical activity, 74 percent of residents who underwent CKG experienced dyslipidemia and 51 percent had dental health issues,” she added.

In response to these findings, the Jakarta administration is strengthening preventive and promotive health programs. Efforts include expanding public education on healthy lifestyles and increasing screening for non-communicable disease risk factors through the CKG initiative.

“We are also collaborating with various stakeholders to create environments that better support physical activity and balanced diets,” Ani said as quoted from Antara.

heart disease, and infectious disease risks including Tuberculosis (TB). Basic health checks include measurements of height, weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels. Dental checks are also available, although limited to examinations without procedures such as fillings or extractions.
